Early Appearance of Epicardial Adipose Tissue through Human Development

چکیده

Background: Epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) is a visceral fat depot with unique anatomic, biomolecular and genetic features. Due to its proximity the coronary arteries myocardium, dysfunctional EAT may contribute development progression of cardiovascular metabolic-related adiposity-based chronic diseases. The aim this work was describe, by morphological techniques, early origin EAT. Methods: adipogenesis studied in 41 embryos from 32 gestational days (GD) 8 weeks (GW) 23 fetuses until full term (from 9 36 GW). Results: This process comprises five stages. Stage 1 appears as mesenchyme at 33–35 GD. 2 characterized angiogenesis 42–45 3 covers up 34 GW appearance small fibers extracellular matrix. 4 visible around arteries, multilocular adipocytes primitive lobules, 5 present unilocular definitive lobules. precursor end first month atrioventricular grooves. Unilocular appear eighth month. Conclusions: origin, plasticity clinical implications, factors such maternal health nutrition might influence consequence.

Gene pathway development in human epicardial adipose tissue during early life.

Studies in rodents and newborn humans demonstrate the influence of brown adipose tissue (BAT) in temperature control and energy balance and a critical role in the regulation of body weight. Here, we obtained samples of epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) from neonates, infants, and children in order to evaluate changes in their transcriptional landscape by applying a systems biology approach. Surpr...

Growth and development of human adipose tissue during early gestation.

805 normal-for-age human embryos and fetuses were used to study early prenatal fat development. The investigation included observations on stages of fat morphogenesis at the light microscopic level and computerized image analyses of fat lobule size and number. The buccal fat pad was selected as a model system for the analyses. Fat tissue differentiates between the 14th and the 16th weeks: there...

Human epicardial adipose tissue is a source of inflammatory mediators.

BACKGROUND Inflammatory mediators that originate in vascular and extravascular tissues promote coronary lesion formation. Adipose tissue may function as an endocrine organ that contributes to an inflammatory burden in patients at risk of cardiovascular complications. In this study, we sought to compare expression of inflammatory mediators in epicardial and subcutaneous adipose stores in patient...

Clinical importance of epicardial adipose tissue

Different visceral fat compartments have several systemic effects and may play a role in the development of both insulin resistance and cardiovascular diseases. In the last couple of years special attention has been paid to the epicardial adipose tissue (EAT), which can be quantified by non-invasive cardiac imaging techniques. The epicardial fat is a unique fat compartment between the myocardiu...
